Editorial Policy

How we research, write, and keep Centwise honest.

Our sources

Every guide starts from primary sources: IRS publications and tax rules, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau guidance, Federal Reserve data, and official plan documents. We point you to key sources where they help you verify a claim.

Fact-checking

Figures that change yearly — contribution limits, tax brackets, rate examples — are checked against the issuing authority before publication and re-checked on every update.

Corrections

Found an error? Email us at hello@getcentwise.com and we'll investigate. Confirmed corrections are fixed promptly and noted at the top of the article with the date.

Independence

Centwise runs no sponsored placements and no pay-to-rank recommendations. If we suggest an approach, it's because the math supports it. Advertising is clearly separate from editorial content.

Not financial advice

Our guides are educational. Your situation is unique — for big decisions, consider talking to a qualified professional.
